Centennial IV recap:

21 participants - player's choice tournament; 10 players used Inters, 11 players used NHL. 3 new players to Stiga participated.
Start time: just after 9:30 am
End time: last game finished at 6:30 pm
Everyone had 29 or 30 games, before the playoffs. All playoff series in all 3 pools were best-of-7, except for the 3rd place finals in each pool best-of-5.
No computer = no crashes = no delays. We had a one hour delay with a computer crash last year.
We saved additional time by:
1) setting up a first round schedule where all the NHLers played each other and all the Inters played each other first. Then, the Inters played the NHLers - the NHLers stayed at the same board, while the Inters shifted to the next board after each game. In this way only one change of player figures was necessary.
2) eliminating the 30 second song before games
3) having players mark their scores on their own scoresheet and have their opponent initial it.
In this way, everyone was able to play 29-30 pre-playoff games, with 3 breaks of 45, 30 and 15 minutes, best-of-7 playoffs and still finish by 6:30.

Thanks to Will Wong for supplying a sound system at short notice when WEM notified us that their sound system wasn't working. Thanks to Kent and Lyle Knittig for making the Centennial IV commemorative blue Stiga pucks. Thanks to the first time Stiga players; Mark White, Murray Green and Eric Filipowski. And thanks to Lyle Knitting for bringing his new and improved SFR table hockey game for passersby to play. Centre Fountain at WEM is a great place to play - under the skylight and huge crowds passing by. ETHL and CTHA pamphlets were available for passersby to take, so we hope to pick up a few new players for the 2007-08 season.

The next TH event at West Edmonton Mall, Centre Fountain will be the Alberta Stiga Championships at the beginning of February.
